This is the Fountain Lace pattern from Barbara Walker's The Craft of Lace Knitting.
This stitch gives a good result for minimal mental outlay. It has only four "action rows” and all the wrong-side rows of the lace are just purled. The decreases and yarn overs are balanced, so the stitch counts don’t fluctuate over the course of the pattern.
It’s perfect for a first-time lace knitter or someone who just wants something easy to knit while still looking fancy.
