One of my online friend groups has a tradition called the NYDCOA: New Year’s Day Cast On Along. It’s the world’s easiest knit-along. All you need to do is cast on a new project on New Year’s Day, ideally one for yourself.
This pattern was an offshoot of my New Year’s project for 2022. It’s a very repetitive stitch, which makes it easy to work on at knitting groups, whether in-person or online.
The asymmetric triangle shape is quite versatile, maybe more like a scarf than a shawl.
Definitely plan to give it a vigorous blocking at the end.
Pattern features both charts and written directions. Sample shown is a sport weight, but this versatile pattern is easy to scale up or down in yarn weight, yardage, and finished size.
